Healthy Moms is a substance use disorder (SUD) treatment program that assists participants in treating their substance use disorders and supporting them to become healthy, productive women and mothers. Childcare is provided on-site for children under the age of 6.

Services Available

  • Outpatient: Twice weekly groups with focus on psychoeducation and stabilization of life circumstances. Evaluation, education and case management, including primary assessment of substance use, and assessment of possible mental health, parenting, housing, legal and medical issues.
  • Intensive Outpatient: Intensive outpatient treatment classes and groups are provided four days a week and focus on aspects of recovery, including relapse prevention, codependency, assertive communication, emotional recovery, goal setting, stress management, spirituality and effects of substance abuse on the family. Parenting classes are also included in the weekly treatment schedule and focus on topics such as child development and positive discipline. Case management and individual sessions are also available as needed, and workshops on child and maternal health are offered. On-site childcare is provided for children 5 and under.
  • Aftercare: This group meets one to two times a week to support women in their recovery lifestyle after transition from treatment. In addition, a weekly process group is available for clients to attend.
  • Behavioral Health Services: Behavioral Health assessment and services are provided on-site and include individual and family counseling as needed. Trauma recovery counseling and Parent Child Psychotherapy is also available to some participants.
     

Eligibility

Healthy Moms provides services for women who are pregnant and/or have children who are under the age of 6 years and who meet medical necessity for Outpatient or Intensive Outpatient SUD treatment and have Partnership HealthPlan of California insurance or Medi-Cal.

DHHS staff will connect with you during the call to schedule an assessment should you be referred to DHHS’s Healthy Moms Program.

It is easy to access services once you have been referred to our program. Come to 2910 H St. in Eureka to pick up an admission packet or call 707-441-5220 to have one mailed or emailed to you. Fill out the packet and return it prior to your SUD assessment.

Per California state regulations, admission preference will be given to pregnant women using substances and to intravenous drug users.

Substance Use Disorder Services of the Wellness & Recovery Program  

Humboldt County contracts with Partnership HealthPlan of California as part of the Wellness & Recovery Program. The Wellness & Recovery Program offers substance use disorder (SUD) services, as regulated by the California Department of Health Care Services’ Drug Medi-Cal Organized Delivery System (ODS) to eligible individuals. 

The Wellness & Recovery Program encompasses seven counties: Humboldt, Lassen, Mendocino, Modoc, Shasta, Siskiyou and Solano.

Healthy Moms Program is licensed by the California Department of Health Care Services Licensing and Certification Division. Our certification number is 120011CN.

The California Department of Health Care Services maintains a list of facilities and programs where their licensure or certification has been placed in probationary status, been subject to a temporary suspension order, been revoked, or the operator has been given a notice of operation in violation of law. Individuals may go to SUS-REV-NOV to confirm the status of a facility’s license or program’s certification.
