I was the victim of a crime. Can you tell me the name of the defendant and the defendant's next court date?

Due to privacy and legal considerations, specific details such as the defendant's name and court dates are generally not disclosed directly to victims. However, you can request case status updates by contacting the Humboldt County District Attorney’s Office or reaching out to your assigned victim advocate.

I am the victim of a crime and I want to drop charges. Can I do that?

The decision to drop charges is ultimately made by the prosecutor, not the victim. While your input is important, the District Attorney’s Office reviews the evidence and makes the final decision to ensure public safety.

I am the victim of domestic violence and want to make a report. How do I do this?

If you are in immediate danger, please call 911. For non-emergency domestic violence reports, contact your local law enforcement agency. You may also reach out to the Humboldt County Victim/Witness Services Unit or the domestic violence hotline for guidance and support.

I am the victim of a crime and want a restraining order to keep a person away from me. How do I do this?

To obtain a restraining order, visit the Humboldt County Superior Court’s Family Law Division for the required forms and instructions. It is advisable to consult with a legal advocate or a victim services specialist who can guide you through the process, including attending any necessary hearings.
