Pre-Law, Law Clerk, and Internship Programs
The Humboldt County District Attorney’s Office offers year-round internships for college students and summer programs for those enrolled in law school as well as Fall Post-Bar Clerkships. Under attorney supervision, college interns assist with projects as well as attending court with prosecutors. Law students assist with research and writing assignments and attend court. 2L students will have the opportunity to participate in court proceedings with the supervision of a prosecutor. Internship programs also provide all students a chance to gain experience in administrative, investigative, and law office environments.
Job Shadow
The Humboldt County District Attorney encourages students interested in law or criminal justice to consider shadowing members of the District Attorney's Office for a day. Students will attend court with the prosecutor and meet with an investigator and victim witness advocate.
Volunteer-Internships in the Victim Witness Services Program
The Humboldt County District Attorney’s Office accepts year-round applications for volunteer-interns seeking experience in Victim Witness Services. Volunteer-interns gain hands-on experience by observing and participating in victim advocacy, criminal justice procedures and restitution assistance.
