Casey Life Skills Assessment

The Casey Life Skills Assessment (CLSA) is a free tool that assesses the behaviors and competencies youth need to achieve their long-term goals. It aims to set youth on their way toward developing healthy, productive lives. Examples of the life skills that the CLSA helps youth self-evaluate include:
  • Maintaining healthy relationships
  • Work and study habits
  • Planning and goal setting
  • Using community resources
  • Daily living activities
  • Budgeting and paying bills
  • Computer literacy
  • Permanent connections to caring adults.

What happens after a youth takes the assessment?


Youth typically require 30 to 40 minutes to complete the CLSA. Answers are available instantly for youth to review with their Independent Living Skills (ILS) coordinator, and can be helpful for developing goals.

ILS-eligible youth who complete the CLSA will be provided with a $25 incentive.
