If you are interested in sharing your input on local climate initiatives, please consider taking Humboldt County’s Climate Action Plan Survey. 

The County of Humboldt continues to work in partnership with incorporated cities and other local agencies to release an updated draft Regional Climate Action Plan (CAP). The purpose of the CAP is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions throughout Humboldt County. The draft plan examines strategies focused on reducing emissions from vehicle travel, electricity use, natural gas consumption and other sources of greenhouse gases at the local level.

The County of Humboldt’s Planning & Building Department wants to know which strategies in the draft CAP are most important to the community.

Information collected in the CAP Survey will help the county and cities to decide where to focus local efforts and resources to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the Humboldt region. Findings gathered will also inform the draft CAP, which is anticipated to be released to the public for review in July 2024.

The survey is available at humboldtgov.org/ClimateActionPlan until Wednesday, May 29. All interested community members are invited to participate.
