Humboldt County Library Launches Library at Your Door Service in Eureka, Arcata and Fortuna

County Administrative Office Posted on September 20, 2024

The Humboldt County Public Library is excited to announce the launch of its new Library at Your Door program. This new service delivers library materials directly to an eligible library cardholder’s doorstep, free of charge.

Humboldt County Library cardholders in Arcata, Fortuna and Eureka now have the opportunity to enjoy their favorite books, audiobooks, DVDs and other library materials without having to leave the comfort of home. The new Library at Your Door service is especially convenient for community members who may have difficulty visiting the library due to busy schedules and customers with limited mobility or health concerns. This new service was made possible thanks to a generous donation from the Humboldt Library Foundation.

“We are incredibly grateful for the support of the Humboldt Library Foundation, which has made it possible to offer this service to library cardholders in Arcata, Fortuna and Eureka," said Humboldt County Library Director Christopher Cooper. "By expanding access and removing barriers, the Library at Your Door program brings us closer to our goal of making library materials available and accessible to everyone, enabling us to continue fostering lifelong learning for all members of our community.”

“The Humboldt Library Foundation is thrilled to fund this critical new program and advance our mission of increasing library accessibility,” said Humboldt Library Foundation Board President Alison Talbott. “Support from our local business community and foundation donors was critical in bringing this new initiative to life and we’re looking forward to seeing this program thrive.”
