Due to unforeseen circumstances, the County of Humboldt’s Human Resources Department is postponing the upcoming event, “Healthcare Access and Quality Challenges: Wider Community Impacts.”
Originally scheduled for Thursday, April 24, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Dell’Arte in Blue Lake, the event will be rescheduled to a later date to ensure broader participation and accommodate scheduling needs.
A new date and updated event details will be shared with the community as soon as they are confirmed.
This public event is designed to explore the far-reaching impacts of local healthcare access and quality challenges. Humboldt County is currently designated as both a Health Provider Shortage Area and a Mental Health Provider Shortage Area by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. These designations highlight the importance of addressing healthcare gaps and workforce needs in the region.
The rescheduled program will include panel discussions with experts from local healthcare, government, education, businesses and community organizations on topics including:
- How healthcare shortages affect local hiring and the economy
- The disproportionate effects on historically underserved communities
- Community informed solutions to improve healthcare access in Humboldt County
Once rescheduled, the event will offer both in person and virtual attendance options. Those interested in participating are encouraged to stay tuned for further updates.
The Human Resources Department would like to thank the event’s partners, the Humboldt Health Foundation and Humboldt Area Foundation and Wild Rivers Community Foundation, for their continued support and all those who had planned to attend. The county looks forward to hosting this important conversation at a future date.
