The Humboldt County Department of Agriculture will offer a free fieldworker training session on Tuesday, March 11. Local growers who need to meet mandatory state fieldworker training requirements are encouraged to register.
This training session will take place from 10-11:30 a.m. at the Humboldt County Agricultural Center Auditorium, located at 5630 South Broadway in Eureka.
Participation in this event meets state training requirements to provide annual fieldworker training to individuals who perform work in areas treated with pesticides, including herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, etc. within 30 days after application. Workers must be fully trained before entering treated areas, pursuant to Section 6764 of Title 3 of the California Code of Regulations.
All attendees will receive a Fieldworker Verification Card upon completion of the training.
Growers should note this is not a pesticide handler training and does not meet the training requirements for pesticide handlers outlined in Section 6724 in Title 3 of the California Code of Regulations.
