The State Fire Marshal has identified Local Responsibility Area (LRA) Fire Hazard Severity Zones for each county in California and has requested that each county adopt these zones into their Fire Hazard Severity maps.
The Board of Supervisors adopted an ordinance to approve these zones at a Board of Supervisors meeting on June 24, 2025.

To access the current Fire Severity Zones via Humboldt County’s WebGIS Portal, turn on the "Fire Hazard Severity" and "CAL FIRE SRA" layers listed under the "Hazards" and "Fire" categories.
